What's Happening at First Baptist?
First Baptist Church of Walhalla has been in this community for over 100 years. But over the years, the community changed around us and we did not. We continually did the same things the same way and lost touch with our neighbors around us. 🥲
That all ends now. We are in a Renewal Process.
Renewal - Our church took a long hard look at ourselves and realized we needed to change. We needed to be reminded that it's not 1975 anymore. As my grandma used to say, "It's time to get with it."
Process - It will take us some time. We're heading in the right direction. We just don't move as fast as we used to.
What Won't Change
Our love for and commitment to God - The Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit - is as serious today as it has ever been.
Because of that, we are committed to hold these convictions with a tight grasp:
We are committed to the Bible. It is the Word of God. It reveals truth to us and is totally without error.
We exist to proclaim the glory of God and lead people to worship Him in spirit and truth.
We exist to lead everyone we can to repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ.
We exist to help every believer grow in the knowledge of Christ and grow in obedience to Him.
